   Property tax is exempted for property of widows, widowers, and disabled veterans.

   The property of widows, widowers, and disabled persons who are residents of this state is exempt from taxation to the extent allowed by Article IX § 2, 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3, Constitution of Arizona, and subject to the conditions and limitations prescribed by this section.

   Contact the Maricopa County tax assessors office to file for eligibility. Thank you for your service.

   It is important to read the constitution of Arizona. Here is what I get after reading the document in Article IX § 2, 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3. Your total Adjusted Gross Income cannot be more than $25,000/yr or $30,000/yr if you have children living with you. If you have people/family staying with you, you must claim there income as well.

   If you qualify for the above the. You can exempt up to $3000/yr if your total assessed taxes are not over $20,000/yr. if your taxes are over $20,000/yr then there is no exemption.

   Example: your income (AGI) is $34,000/yr and your property taxes are $3800. ZERO exemption because you didn’t meet the required minimum AGI.

   Example: your income is $28,000/yr and you have a dependent child living with you. Your property taxes are $2800. You can claim all $2800 because you met the criteria. When your child moves out the exemption goes away because you now don’t settle minimum AGI of $25,000/yr for a couple.

   If someone moves back, let’s say a son who is 22. His earned income counts against your income.

   Hope I have read it correctly. I am also a 100% disabled vet who gets no help from Arizona. I wish I was able to work but these are the cards I’ve been dealt. Please correct me anyone who reads the Constitution and understands it differently.
