When we purchased our house we proved that we were actually “in residence” there and received a reduction to a tax rate of 4%. Are we also able to claim something called a “Homestead exemption” – or is it the same thing ?

I was told by a realtor that seniors (over 65) in Florida can get another 25% property tax deduction AFTER already doing homestead exemption.

Is that true?

Where can I actually confirm that in writing?

My taxes keep going up, and my home value keeps going down. My house is maybe worth 220,000 the realtor said. yet my taxes are now as of this year up to over $8000. We cannot afford to live here anymore. My wife and I are thinking about just leaving and letting the bank take it back. Can you Help?

I’m permanently disabled and live on Social Security Disability(for 15 yrs now). My question is this: Would I qualify to be exempted from paying property taxes on my car??? It’s a 2001 Toyota Echo, 4dr, 118,000miles. If so, please send me whatever forms I need.

would like to pay my property taxes online, but somehow my name does not match the address. I had this situation last year, it was because of spelling my name with ‘s’ instead of two ‘z’ like this: Gonzalez.
